About Us

We are the George Norris Alliance for a Better Nebraska. We take our name from the Nebraska legislator who was both a Republican and a Progressive, and a sometime Independent. He is best remembered for creating Nebraska's nonpartisan Unicameral legislature. 

We are ordinary citizens, Red, Blue, and Independent, who set aside our differences and come together to push back against toxic politics. As we see it, we don't have to agree on all the issues, we just have to disagree better -- peacefully, respectfully, constructively.

Braver Angels is working in our local communities by holding meet-and-talks, workshops, and public presentations designed to bridge the polarizing political divide we experience in our country. These events allow people of all political views to get past destructive stereotypes so we can have civil conversations about real issues that lead to productive problem-solving, or at the very least to respectful mutual acceptance.
